The ‘‘ Golden Triangle ’’ Story

We have entitled the new strategy master plan for the new nocturnal identity the ‘’ Golden Triangle‘’, in reference to the warm and precious atmosphere that the light will create, and the triangular geometric shape that will defi ne the monumental light grid surrounding this project of lighting. The new light grid must homogenize the night landscape and make the urban landscape more readable at night. This grid will be adapted to the street scale in terms of luminosity and lighting fixtures.

The triangular trace encompasses several major and iconic architectures because they represent different eras that have marked the evolution of the city and the history of Vietnam. It is also a sector taken by luxury brands and hotels. The play of colors and contrasts will bring a new staging of the district, offering new perspectives and point of focus on the architectures, the new landscaping of the parks and the monumental trees. This new highlight should define a strong identity for this emblematic district of Hanoi, important for the inhabitants and also for the image of a tourist capital.

1 | The Monumental axis

The light device is made up of a frame of decorative candelabra whose function on is to illuminate pedestrian areas and create readable lines over long distances, and therefore perspective effects. The functional light of the roads is guaranteed by a grid of light masts located on both sides of the road and which provide uniform light and comply with the regulations.

2 | Trang Tien Street

The Trang Tien Street Light Project aims to redefine every aspect with its focal point being the opera house. For this it is necessary to intervene on several elements: the decor a lampposts, the functional light of the pavement, the light control of the private facades, and finally the light of the front façade of the Opera.

3 | The alleys

The light of the alleys will be on the scale of the street, by new light devices in mats, suspended or hang on the facade or in candelabra. The object is not regularity but the punctuation on of light points in warm tones that will blend with the light of the facades, shop fronts and other signage which are also the night identity of the streets of Hanoi.

4 | The parks

The parks will be more luminous and cooler than the streets surrounding them in order to create contrast and visual focus. The new park light will also be functional and safe to enable the very popular nighttime activities in Hanoi.

5 | The monuments

The lights of the three buildings selected in this study have specific treatments to their architecture and their history, but the common object is to create a contrast with the luminous environment. Some remarkable trees are highlighted in the same spirit.
